When I first met Helen and Garry last year I knew that their day was going to be really, really special. Helen already had so many ideas planned and her excitement and enthusiasm was contagious. She had worked really closely with Paula from Paula Rooney weddings and had so many fabulous details lined up that I just couldn’t wait to see the marquee at Trunkwell. The combined forces of Paula, Helen, Helen’s mum Linda who made all the sugar paste flowers on the cake and The Kooky Cake company who supplied the cake and cake stand (I won’t spoil the surprise on that one as I may well have to save it for part 2!) had produced something truly breathtaking and all the guests were stunned when they saw it for the first time.
But I am teasing you a little, as all that beautiful detail will have to wait! We started at Helen’s Dad’s house with 5 bridesmaids, Helen, her Mum, Dad, Aunty and Uncle, the hairdresser and a labrador called Toby.
For the dress shot, I was keen to try something a little different, so while Helen wasn’t looking I enlisted the help of chief bridesmaid extraordinaire and younger sister, Linny. We carried the dress outside and with the help of a tall relative we were able to hang it from their old swing frame in the garden. I really love the idea of bringing something in from Helen’s past as she looks to the future – what do you think of the picture?
Garry had sent Helen a huge bouquet of flowers as well as a card and some gifts that arrived during the course of the morning. He had picked out a necklace and a pair of earrings that perfectly complemented Helen’s dress (without any help from anyone!) and a bottle of the perfume that Helen had been wishing for (maybe a few hints were dropped there) Needless to say there were a few tears shed before we even reached the dressing stage
So Helen and Bud are ready to enter the beautiful Parish church at Shinfield and we will slip quietly away for now…..
Let me know what you think so far – which shot is your favourite? How much do you want to see the rest of this fabulous wedding? Don’t be shy
