Let us return to Nicola and Richard’s joyful day as they sit down to eat with their guests. This is always a great opportunity for me to capture detail shots of table and room decor, the food and obviously interactions between guests as the afternoon unfolds.
I love the very individual topper that featured on the cake on this occasion (although the nose dive it took during Richard’s speech was a little disconcerting!)
I still think that providing guests with disposable cameras at the tables is a great way to see your day from the viewpoint of others, and you get to keep the shots rather than them being stored on someone else’s phone or computer. These had a particularly cute retro cardboard wrapper.
One of the great things about my job is that I get to see (and often sample :D) all kinds of fabulous food. As a member of the prestigious Relais et Chateaux group the food at The Vineyard is particularly splendid.
During the speeches the bride and groom gave a gift to their sons, I love the reaction in this image!
The pianist that played during the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast was particularly popular with the children. No more so that when he asked them to help him play The Entertainer….
Nichola and Richard’s evening guests were treated to a particularly fine spread of mini food and a fantastic sweetie cart…
…which was ably guarded by these two chaps!
I spotted these three pretending to sky-dive on the glass floor during the course of the evening, so of course I had to get down there and join them!
I generally like to get some twilight shots with the bride and groom, but due to the timings of the day and the weather it wasn’t possible on this occasion, so we went with some night time ones instead. The fire and water installation at the front of the hotel looks particularly spectacular at night.
I hope you have enjoyed sharing these images as much as I enjoyed shooting them. Which is your favourite? For me it has to be the last shot over the water….
