The Vineyard Stockcross. A joyful, intimate celebration of love.

Sometimes when you meet a couple you just click.  That’s how it was with Richard and Nichola – as I sat in their kitchen drinking tea and comparing notes on our children, who happen to be very similar ages – it was like I had known them for  years.  When I met their two boys for our pre-wedding shoot we had such fun exploring Donnington Castle that I just knew their wedding day would be a joy to photograph.

The most important thing about the day was the love that was apparent, between Richard and Nichola and between the two of them and their gorgeous boys, it was just so plain to see on all their faces.

Nichola really wasn’t the stressed-out bride type.  In fact, she was busy browsing the property pages of the local paper when I arrived – I think she found a nice place with a couple of acres and a swimming pool 😉

Although this is the less formal of the images I captured with Nichola and the boys before the ceremony I just love it because it just shows the relationships and characters within the family so well.

I believe this one is also very characteristic:)

I love these personalised cushions that each of the boys had, but more about those later….

Everyone thought that the rings would be perfectly safe tied on to the cushions with their ribbons, however this was the third attempt at entering the room.  You might notice that Max has a very close eye on Tom’s cushion, as he had lost it twice already!  Very funny for those of us inside, but it must have been nerve-racking for Nichola waiting to come in.

I love that first look……

As well as the relaxation that follows the ceremony….

It is always worth keeping an eye on the rest of the room when the register is being signed…

What do you get when you mix small boys, heavy rain and enormous umbrellas?  Great photo opportunities of course!

But Nichola and Richard did manage to enjoy a few moments on their own, or did they?…….

We did try very hard to pretend we hadn’t noticed that we were being stalked….
