After I had photographed Amie and Jon’s wedding at Donnington Valley, I got a call from Amie’s Mum, Caroline. She said that she was getting married in August and would really like me to be there to photograph their day for them as I had been so lovely at Amie’s wedding. Well, what could I say (apart from “But of course!”) So August saw us at The Olde Bell in Hurley, which is a beautiful, tiny village near to Maidenhead. The entire day was held in the Malthouse, a detached building in it’s own gardens next door to the pub. The wedding party had the whole place to themselves for the day which made for a most relaxed and leisurely day. Everything flowed with great ease from the beautiful oak panelled ceremony room to the music room for champagne, canapes and a live pianist, to the garden room for the wedding breakfast, taking in the gardens along the way. It was an intimate celebration and to mark the joining of the two families, Scottie and Caroline insisted that they were all to be seated around one large, oval table for the wedding breakfast.
As ever we begin the day with the girls in their preparations.
The flowers were supplied by the wonderful Ashley Blooms and they really did a fantastic job….
Scottie’s daughter was Caroline’s bridesmaid, with Caroline’s granddaughter as flower girl and grandson as page boy. Caroline was walked down the aisle by her son and they had readings from her two daughters, so it truly was a family affair.
I love Caroline and Scottie’s expressions on this one – joy, relief and maybe a touch of disbelief …..
and I just love the pure love in Scottie’s smile in this one…
This is one of those shots where I suddenly said “Ooh, I love that light. Stop there, no no no, right there,” I am fairly sure the waiter thought I was crazy, but it was worth it!
I just had to include this one…..sorry guys 😉
Thank you to my lovely fellow suppliers for making my job so much fun
Don’t forget that all of the images are available to view on my website
