Last month I photographed the wedding of Ant and John in Pangbourne. The village is close to my heart (as well as my home) as it is where I got married (many moons ago!) and I always love working at The Elephant. When I heard about the plans for Ant and John’s day I was delighted to hear words like “unconventional”, “laid back” and “live music” after all, who wants a conventional, uptight wedding? Although the day was very informal, there were still plenty of beautiful, thoughtful little details along the way and of course there was Antoinette herself , who provided plenty of material for a photographer 😉
I started off the morning at the hairdressers with the girls….
But then I had a rare treat – as everything was happening within the village I got to pop in on the groom and his family as well. I was delighted to capture some lovely photographs of their preparations as well.
After make up and buttonhole chaos I strolled across to The Elephant….
Unconventional Ant, but why would you not want to hug your husband to be when you reach him?….
and more conventionally after the declaration…
Signing the register, we managed one serious shot…
but I suspect this is more true to the two of them anyway….
Closely watched by a young bridesmaid, I think she was taking notes
Did I mention unconventional yet?
There were lots of lovely details throughout the day, expertly created by Sarah, their florist. The table centres reflected the interests of the bride and groom, and the planters were sent home with relatives at the end of the evening.
and a beautiful bouquet….
I will leave you there for now, come back for more soon.
