Last September I was delighted to photograph the wedding of Jane and Simon at The Elephant in Pangbourne. They live in Pangbourne, so the venue had lots of meaning to them both and they are already well known there. Jane got ready in the hotel, while Simon and the boys went for a little ride around the countryside on their scooters, but more about that later.
I do love the eclectic collection of furniture in the rooms at The Elephant, they are all decorated and dressed differently, as it offers so many great photo opportunities….
The lovely Sarah from The Garden Room in Goring delivered the beautiful flowers. The entire place looked stunning…..
and each exquisite corsage was completely different…
and these hoops for the bridesmaids were just stunning.
The north-facing windows in the rooms at the front of the hotel provide such lovely light for pictures…
The front of the ceremony room has a long shelf and Sarah filled it with containers of flowers of all shapes and sizes, particularly Jane’s favourite Dahlias.
The navy blue chair ties really complement the ivory runner and the beautiful, delicate flowers.
Scooters have played a big part in Jane and Simon’s lives, and in their meeting, so it was fitting that the grooms party arrived on them. When the registrar told me that she had driven past a gathering of decorated scooters outside a nearby pub I had to stifle a little giggle!
The girls kept a watchful eye out for them.
When the girls were all ready they wanted to have a photograph with Jane’s Dad before they went down for the ceremony…
but they couldn’t stay serious for long!
It is always great to allow the bride a moment of quiet before the hustle and bustle of the day really begins.
Meanwhile the boys were looking far too relaxed!
I just loved Jane’s bouquet – look at that dahlia!
Once the ceremony was over and we were out in the garden we were joined by the guest of honour – Heidi…
