On Easter Saturday Jo and Ian tied the knot at the lovely Newbury Manor hotel. Somehow I have never been here before, though I have driven past many times on the main road. What a little gem it is, tucked away with its own watermill and mill rush right there in the grounds.
When I arrived the girls were all busy getting ready, suitably fortified with champagne and chocolate. Jo looked utterly divine in her gown by Ian Stuart (I have to confess I squeaked quite a lot when I discovered it!)
I love that Jo had a little tribute to her Dad tucked away in her bouquet, such a great way to include a loved one who is no longer around.
Just get a load of those bridesmaid dresses, all that netting underneath, they just looked AMAZING!!!
Remember I mentioned the mill rush? Well of course we had to make use of it for the photographs.
Jo and Ian decided that they wouldn’t go for a formal sit-down meal, instead choosing champagne afternoon tea. The table centres and bridal favours all reflected this theme and were all made by Jo’s incredibly talented chief bridesmaid Tina.
I can say with absolute confidence that the afternoon tea was delicious (I was defeated by it though!)
The place settings were marked with little ceramic hearts stamped with each guest’s name. Some took to wearing them in various places.
Speeches were, of course, emotional.
So as the band got everyone jumping and the dancing was in full swing I slipped away, I couldn’t resist another picture of the mill rush on the way out though.
