So last month I got to go and play with the amazing people at Aspire Photography Training. I had won a place on their styled wedding shoot and the fact that it was in Cumbria turned out to have its advantages – what Mum would not relish solo train travel and a night in a lovely B&B? But I digress. The day took place on the beautiful Graythwaite estate on the western shores of Lake Windermere. As a photographer, the opportunity to shoot utter gorgeousness just for yourself is quite a rare one, there were no “must get” shots, no brief, no expectations, just amazing styling, stunning flowers, exquisite calligraphy, incredible models (who were all real people, not professional models,) beautiful clothes and the most amazing location.
The theme for the shoot was summed up in four words – “autumn, bohemian, Cumbrian Country House” (ok, it is five!) and everything around the day flowed from that, even the lunch (pumpkin soup with artisan bread – yummy!)
I took the opportunity to really step outside my usual shooting style – I put away my favourite lens and frequently stopped myself taking a shot because it was the sort of shot I would usually take. Though I did have to get a shot of the shoes – that goes without saying!
Anyway, I will let the pictures do the talking, I am really excited about them – I hope that you love them too…
