Greys Court Henley Matt and Juliette’s pre-wedding shoot

Last weekend I met up with Juliette and Matt to hear more about their wedding in October and to take a little walk and take some photographs.  As I have mentioned before, I really love doing pre-wedding shoots as it gives me time to get to know a couple and helps them to relax in front of a (rather large) camera.  As we were leaving their house Juliette told me that I would have my work cut out as they are they most un-photogenic people in the world!  Well, I love a challenge, so off we went.  We went to the gorgeous Greys Court in Henley, near to their home, which was new to all of us.  It is a beautiful property with lots of lovely gardens (happy, happy me) big trees (yippee) and even some good bridges – what more could we ask for?  We had lots of fun with lots and lots of giggling, running around a maze, tree climbing and grass chewing.  However I was most disappointed to find that they were not difficult to photograph as a couple at all;) After initially feeling a little awkward, they really warmed to the occasion and were so relaxed and natural with the camera and with ignoring me skulking around in the undergrowth!  I think they look fabulous and I cannot wait to photograph them in all their finery on their wedding day next month.

I hope you love these as much as I do, please leave some love on the blog to let me know you popped over:D

Upper Basildon wedding – a very personal, transatlantic affair

Last Saturday I had the great pleasure of photographing Kirsty and Dave’s renewal of vows ceremony.  They were married last year, but due to work commitments they had a very small, low-key wedding.  So exactly one year on they returned to the UK to have the wedding that they really wanted all along, oh and did I mention that the bride organised it all from Seattle?!  The ceremony was beautiful with all of their families involved in very special ways.  The flowers were picked at a pick-your-own flowers farm then arranged by the mother and sister of the groom……the bride made bunting to festoon all around the stable yard……..the cake was a chocolate log pile(!) and the wedding favours were personalised wedding M&Ms……oh, and the bride made hand blown glass ornaments as thank you gifts.  The weather was not at it’s best (ok, very British understatement there) but we managed to get outside for some of the day, and we got some really fun umbrella shots:D Anyway, for now I will leave you with a little sneaky peek of the day….

Don’t forget to leave some blog love so that I know you popped over.

The bridal party got ready in central Maidenhead, which meant a chance to grab some shots of the girls (and Dad) next to the lovely bridge…. Maidenhead wedding photographer

Trunkwell House Wedding part 3

Welcome back for part three of this fabulous and beautiful wedding.  I hope you are enjoying seeing the pictures as much as I enjoy sharing them with you.  Please do leave a comment to let me know what you think.  Helen and Garry have also very kindly left their online album open so that others can take a peek, so pop over and see the rest when you have time to put your feet up with a cup of tea (or a glass of wine, if you feel so inclined…) http://www.binnsphoto.co.uk/view-your-pictures/albums/12929

This wedding was so full of beautiful details it was difficult to know where to look next.  Helen and Paula of Paula Rooney Weddings had done a fabulous job of turning a marquee into something truly stunning, the reactions from the guests as they saw the paper balls on the ceiling and the fabulous table centres were ones of genuine surprise and delight.

I loved the menus on the tables – each one in a different vintage picture frame.  I also loved that the dessert reflected the country garden theme for the day.  Scones, clotted cream and strawberries, all in individual baskets so that guests could help themselves….

I always like to get into the kitchen if possible to get some shots of the food being prepared just as it is ready to go out.  Not all kitchens can accommodate this, but Trunkwell were most welcoming.  I am always delighted with kitchen shots and often the venue ask to use them as well, telling me that they rarely get pictures of their kitchen staff in action!

I always offer couples a pre-wedding shoot a couple of months before their big day and often they order a signing print of one of the images from that day.  This one was a gift to Helen and Garry as a thank you for recommending me to some friends for their wedding.

This shot is one of my favourites from the day – the expression on the flower girl’s face as she gazes longingly at the lollipop – you just couldn’t stage that…

Shortly before the first dance I rushed up to Helen and said “You have to come outside, the clouds are amazing!”  By this time she and Garry knew me well enough to go with it, so I grabbed the videographer to act as a portable light stand and we created this shot.

Then the first dance.  Oh, the first dance!  The paper balls, the lighting, the sparkly dance floor, the tearful guests, the children in the corner not paying them any heed at all……

So let us return to Helen and Garry’s beautiful day at Trunkwell House.  If you remember, we left Helen with Dad just about to enter the church…..

The cake and fantastic stand were supplied by The Kooky Kake Company in Reading….

…but all the sugar paste flowers were hand made by Linda, mother of the bride.  Are they not just absolutely beautiful?  Helen organised the cheese cake as a surprise for Garry, as he is a massive cheese lover.  It was created by the lovely people at Trunkwell Mansion House.

I will leave you once again with Helen and Bud………Told you this one might have to be a three parter;)
